Ian Long’s Managing Director’s Monthly Summary for May
As we move further into May, it’s great to finally leave the very long winter behind and enjoy the arrival of brighter, warmer days. The change in season, alongside the start of a new tax year, brings a natural sense of reset and renewed focus, offering a valuable opportunity to revisit financial plans, set fresh objectives and ensure everything remains aligned for the year ahead.
With that momentum in mind, preparations are well underway for the upcoming Jurassic 100km walk, which is now just four weeks away. The team has been putting in a lot of effort behind the scenes, and we’re looking forward to sharing an update on everyone’s progress and results in next month’s newsletter.
This month, we’re also pleased to shine a spotlight on one of our amazing team members, Laura Allen. Laura plays a key role within PFM as a Technical Administrator, working very hard to support our Financial Planners and help ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of our service to clients. Her dedication, attention to detail and consistent hard work make a real difference every day, and we’re delighted to recognise her contribution. You can read her blog alongside this one.
In addition to supporting the team professionally, Laura has also achieved an incredible personal milestone, completing the Brighton Marathon in an impressive time of 3 hours and 53 minutes. This is all the more remarkable given it was achieved with very limited training. It’s a fantastic accomplishment and a great example of Laura’s determination and resilience.
The turn of the tax year is always a timely reminder of the importance of forward planning, whether that’s making the most of available allowances, reviewing investment strategies, or simply taking stock of longer-term goals. It also marks a point where many clients begin to look ahead with a fresh perspective, and we’re here to support those conversations every step of the way.
As we head into the coming months, there is plenty to look forward to across PFM, from team initiatives and client events to continued progress in delivering positive outcomes for those we work with.
Thank you, as always, for your ongoing trust and support and we look forward to speaking with many of you soon.
Thanks
Ian
