The Life and Times of Laura Allen
How long have you been part of the PFM team?
Nearly seven years already!
What do you enjoy most about working at PFM?
Absolutely and without a doubt the people – we have the best team of genuinely nice humans here at PFM which makes working ten times better.
Your go-to drink (coffee, tea, cocktail… or something stronger)?
Extra Limey Margarita or a cold, cold Guinness (not if I’m working).
If you could have dinner or a night out with any famous person, who would it be and why?
Hands down, dinner with Bob Mortimer – you would have absolutely no idea what he was going to say next, so the conversation would never be dull!
If you had a completely free day tomorrow, how would you spend it?
A lie in with the pooch, and hopefully the dog stays cute and sleepy until I’ve had a coffee. Head to one of my favourite cafes for breakfast and enjoy some good grub. Then head to the beach, hopefully with sunshine.
What interests you most about working in financial planning?
I think what interests me most about working in financial planning is seeing how we can understand a client’s circumstances and deliver solutions that make a meaningful difference.
Your favourite holiday destination or dream place to visit?
I’d absolutely love to go to Mexico, mainly for the food and culture, but also for the beaches in Tulum!
A great local recommendation (restaurant, walk, pub or hidden gem)?
I have so many, but my favourite cafés at the moment are Revival (Bournemouth), Été (Westbourne), Franco’s Yard (Westbourne), and Miiko (Poole).
The best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Do the hard thing, even if it scares you!
Something people might be surprised to learn about you?
No idea – I don’t have any fun facts or surprising things about me, no famous relatives and I don’t have a party trick!
